Neighbor Records Dog Forcing Burglar To Climb Out Second-Floor Window

A burglar in Indianapolis, Indiana was forced to climb out of a second-floor window after the homeowner's dog started chasing him. A neighbor filmed as the burglar tried to escape through the window while the dog attempted to pull him back inside. The burglar managed to get free from the dog's bite but fell to the ground just as the police arrived.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said that the burglar, who has not been identified, broke a window on the first floor of the home and was met by the homeowner's 90-pound dog, Roxy. Roxy chased the intruder upstairs where the would-be thief tried to climb out of a window to get away from the protective pup.

"There's a big dog," the suspect screamed as officers pounced on him as he fell from the roof. He was taken into custody and treated for injuries to his head and hands.

The dog's owner, Donnie Massing, told WXIN that he was "super proud of [Roxy]" for protecting his home from the burglar.

“It's a big relief knowing that the guy got caught, and won’t be around here any particular time soon,” Massing said.
