Just Blaze Confirms Rumor About JAY-Z & Michael Jackson's Collaboration

Just Blaze, Michael Jackson & JAY-Z

Just Blaze has confirmed one of the longest running myths about JAY-Z and Michael Jackson that fans have been debating over for years.

On Monday, March 13, "Idea Generation" released its new episode featuring the iconic producer. During his conversation with host Noah Callahan-Bever, Just Blaze verified the myth that Michael Jackson's vocals do appear on part two of Hov's "Girls, Girls, Girls" along with singer Chanté Moore. The New Jersey native, who produced the record, said he discovered the files for the vocals while he was browsing through his server. MJ's vocals appear in the chorus of the final track on The Blueprint.

“So Michael Jackson is on the ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ remix – the A version,” Just explained. “And I never knew that. I don’t know if I didn’t go to the studio that day. I thought it was an urban legend or something that Jay said like in jest one day or just was some kind of a myth.”

“One day I was looking for something on the server and I find this folder that says MJ vocals," he continued. "And I’m like, ‘MJ? Don’t that mean Michael Jackson? Oh, whatever.’ And I’m thinking it’s probably stuff from – remember Jay had or remember they had the ‘Rock My World’? So I’m thinking it’s like, takes from that session. And I’m like, ‘I don’t think they recorded this at Baseline but let me take a listen and see what it is.’ And I realize as I’m listening to it, it’s him singing on ‘Girls, Girls, Girls.’ And I’m like, it’s true! Like I never…the last 20 years… I just found it during quarantine. So all these years, I’ve never known it was actually a real thing. And turns out the files had been sitting downstairs this entire time.”

That's not the only part of his life story that Just Blaze discusses. The revered beatmaker gives fans a deep-dive into his early beginnings, how he met Ma$e and what he did to help shape Roc-a-Fella Records' original sound. Watch the entire episode below.
