The Roots Picnic was major vibe with performances from legends like Nas and Lil Wayne to fresh acts like Sexyy Red and Gunna.

Over the weekend, June 1 and 2, a slew of artists and podcasters invaded The Mann Center at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia for the 16th annual music festival hosted by The Roots. The first day began with sets by DJ Diamond Kuts and performances from Marsha Ambrosius, The-Dream, and Jill Scott. Nas also blessed the crowd with a thorough set of his classics and surprised fans by bringing out Ghostface Killah.

During J. Period's Live Mixtape, Method Man, Redman and Black Thought came through to perform along with special guests Lloyd, Common, and Freeway. Meth, Red, Common, Free and Black Thought teamed up for a fresh remix of LL Cool J's "4,3,2,1." The State Property rapper also announced June 1st is officially known as Philly Freeway Day.

Over at the Presser Stage, OT7 Quanny and Smino shut it down before Sexyy Red brought constituents from her Make America Sexyy Again campaign to close out the night. She delivered hits like Drake's "Rich Baby Daddy" plus "U My Everything" and "Get It Sexyy" off her recent album In Sexyy We Trust.

The following day consisted of performances from Cam'ron, Wale, Shaboozey, Robert Glasper, Babyface, Gunna and André 3000. The OutKast artist busted out his flute and performed songs from his debut album New Blue Sun. Lil Wayne closed out the night over at the Park Stage with the help of The Roots. They brought his classic hits like "Mr. Carter," "I'm Goin in," and "Uproar" to life while Weezy belted out his memorable bars. He wrapped up his lively set with joints like "HYFR," "Steady Mobbin'" and "A Milli."
