Lefty Gunplay has a message for his fans after he was arrested in Texas.
The Los Angeles-based artist was reportedly pulled over by police in El Paso on Sunday, February 23. According to UPROXX, the rising artist, who recently appeared on Kendrick Lamar's hit "TV Off," was arrested on three charges including possession of a controlled substance, possessing a prohibited item in a correctional facility, and not wearing a seat belt. It's not clear what exactly led up to his arrest. However, Lefty Gunplay apologized to his fans in El Paso and said he would share more details about the incident when he can.
“Later on, I’ll get into further details on what really happened, but if you know, you know,” he said during an interview with Power 102.1's Patti Diaz. “I feel like I gotta make it up to my El Paso fans. I know I got a lot of fans in Texas. Things didn’t work out the way they were supposed to, but at the end of the day, everything happens for a reason. I love Texas… Hopefully we can make it right.”
Lefty Gunplay was in El Paso to host and perform at a party. He was forced to miss the event due to his run-in with police. He was booked at a jail in El Paso and was released the following day. He was required to pay a $184 fee for not wearing a seatbelt. He also had to pay a $10,000 and a $25,000 bond for his possession charges. As of this report, it's not clear what illegal substance Lefty Gunplay had on him at the time of his arrest.
