Ye and The Game recently previewed a new song they've been working on, and it seems to be inspired by Beyoncé's mom.
On Monday night, February 24, the artist formerly known as Kanye West confused fans by posting a banana emoji to his Instagram timeline. People had more questions after he followed up with a photo of a DM that was sent to Tina Knowles-Lawson on Instagram. Ye clarified that the phone in the photo belonged to The Game and that the Los Angeles native sent the DM to her. Both rappers continued to confuse fans after Ye posted a video of Tina's spirit tunnel from "The Jennifer Hudson Show."
A couple of hours later, Ye announced his and The Game's upcoming collaboration called "Tina." The Chicago native confirmed he produced the track after he posted a video of the rapper, born Jayceon Taylor, recording his verse. The song begins with the audio from Tina's spirit tunnel followed by a sample of the late Tina Turner's "What’s Love Got to Do With It." Ye continued to tease the song in a separate video, which indicates that the track may appear on The Game's forthcoming project The Documentary 3.
Ye and The Game have worked together on several songs in the past. The duo previously teamed up on songs like "Eazy" and "Fortunate" from his 2022 album DRILLMATIC: Heart vs. Mind. Now it seems like Ye will be involved in the "How We Do" rapper's next project. The Game recently announced his plan to drop The Documentary 3 in honor of the 20th anniversary of his debut album.
“I’m definitely gonna start the new album and I ain’t told anybody that," he said last August. "But yeah, The Documentary 3. I’m gonna go in hard and I’ma drop it the same day that the other one dropped... I’m up for the challenge. It’s gonna be tough.”
As of this report, There's no release date for "Tina" or The Documentary 3.
